Our Mission
To provide effective solutions to hunger, malnutrition, food wastage, unemployment, women empowerment, youth empowerment and skills development.
A South African story of compassion that grew from a love of music into a movement feeding thousands every day.
Thembi T Foundation was established in 2015 to nurture the arts and creative talent in South African townships. We believed - and still believe - that culture is the heartbeat of community.
When the COVID-19 pandemic emptied stomachs across Gauteng, we answered the call. What began as emergency food distribution evolved into a permanent commitment: tackling hunger, malnutrition, unemployment, women empowerment, youth development and skills transfer.
Ten years on, we serve over 2,000 people daily, run seven soup kitchens, and have distributed more than 40,000 food parcels - but our story is just beginning.

Founder & Executive Director
A daughter of the soil with a relentless belief in the dignity of every human being, Nomathemba founded Thembi T to channel her love for the arts into community upliftment.
"I grew up surrounded by people who had less than nothing - and gave more than everything. This foundation is my way of repaying that debt."
